Personnel and Material Entry Equipment
The biggest source of contamination in a cleanroom is humans. Entry equipment acts as a buffer to strip away particles before they reach the sterile zone.
Air Showers: High-velocity jets of HEPA-filtered air that blast dust and hair from garments. In 2026, these are increasingly equipped with biometric scanners and "interlocking" logic to ensure decontamination cycles are never skipped.
Pass Boxes (Static and Dynamic): Small airlocked chambers in the wall that allow for the transfer of items between rooms of different cleanliness levels. Dynamic pass boxes include their own internal HEPA filtration to clean the item during transfer.
Tacky Mats: Adhesive mats placed at entrances that pull dirt and debris from the soles of shoes or equipment wheels.
